Hey There! I’m Kara, and I’m living the dream! Photography has been a passion of mine for over a decade, and I have found my happy place capturing moments in people’s lives. It is honestly one of my greatest joys in life <3
Other things I love? I’m basically a HObbit. I love being outside and gardening, I love food and being with family. I also love children and especially squishy babies <3 I enjoy being active, a little adventure and travel, I could hike and explore all day long. I love the ocean as much as mountains, and mountains as much as forests and meadows. I love the sunshine on my skin, and I love the stars in my eyes. Most importantly I love my God and my Savior, and I love the maddeningly difficult and beautiful life I’ve found in their care <3
I have a dreamy husband, Michael, and 3 “spirited” children (plus a newborn now!) whose adorable faces and unique personalities you will see often in my work. Motherhood has been an immense challenge for me, and like many moms I often feel like I am utterly failing at everything. But there are these moments, these Stars and Seeds, or as I sometimes call them, my bag of diamonds, They are small and sometimes hard to see, but when you start collecting them their abundance becomes immeasurable in value. I have a terrible memory, and never seem to get in the habit of journal writing, but I am ALWAYS taking photos, even if it’s only on my iphone. Photos are invaluable to me, and I am so grateful to be able to provide them to others through my work <3
I’m pretty laid back and easy to get along with, so sessions with me tend to feel Different than expected. I’ll probably do some unconventional things during our session because I’m not just taking pictures, I’m capturing your story and your connections, the little details you will look at later and your heart will smile. Our lives are often rushed and stressful, your session is a time for us all to take a break and slow down, and for you to enjoy the abundance we sometimes forget we have <3
